G6PD training “SD Biosensor”: Pre-implementation preparation SCOPE study.
On August 3 – October 2, 2023 the SCOPE Medan team was represented by Dr. Vincent, Dr. Framita and Dr. Azkarunia attended the G6PD test training for 3 days in Hanura Puskesmas, Lampung as a preparation to start the pre-implementation phase of the study. The first day of training contained theoretical knowledge about “Vivax and G6PD” and “G6PD and SD Biosensor G6PD” by Prof.Dr.dr.Inge Susanto, M.Phil and Ari Winasti Satyagraha, Ph.D. On the second day the participants were divided into two groups and were trained on the study procedures along with a practical session of using the G6PD test kit “SD Biosensor” by Ari Winasti Satyagraha, Ph.D and dr.Sherley Angeline. While on the third day the participants were assessed in implementing the training that had been given into the actual situation and seeing what problems might arise when performing their respective tasks.
According to Dr. Vincent as a participant, this training provides information again that malaria elimination efforts in 2030 continue to be carried out from various parties. With this training, we can see that innovative solutions continue to be developed, one of which is the SCOPE research. SCOPE itself is an important first step in malaria elimination because this research is an implementation research, which can be a foundation in shortening malaria management, especially vivax malaria. “We hope this research can run smoothly, so that malaria elimination in 2030 can be achieved,” he added.
