HFMD Study : Training and Recruitment

On March 18 2024, training with the HFMD Study core team was first carried out at USU Hospital, guided by Mr. Ungke from OUCRU-ID. Apart from Medan, this research was also carried out with a team in Bali with a total cumulative target of case and control samples of 30 samples each. In this study, a case sample was needed. Then member training for recruiting HFMD patients was also carried out at the research site, namely Murni Teguh Memorial Hospital.

The first case of the HFMD study was recruited on April 18 2024. The patient had lesions on the hands, feet, mouth and body.

Sampling for control was carried out on April 28, 2024. The control samples from Medan consisted of 15 people. There are 5 people aged  below 5 years, 5 people aged between 6-10 years and 5 people aged  between 11-17 years.
