Site Initiation Visit for the Primus Study at Asahan District Health Office

On June 4, 2025, a Site Initiation Visit (SIV) was conducted for the Primus study on Ultra Short Dose Primaquine at the Asahan District Health Office. This visit marked a key preparatory step before the official commencement of the study at the site.

The central research team, together with representatives from the District Health Office, reviewed the site’s readiness, discussed study protocols, and walked through the operational procedures, including subject recruitment, data and specimen collection, drug storage, and adverse event reporting. A detailed presentation of the study protocol was delivered to ensure all team members understood their roles and responsibilities.

The visit proceeded smoothly and received full support from the Asahan site team. With the completion of this SIV, the site has been declared ready to begin subject recruitment. The Primus study is expected to contribute significantly to the development of shorter and more effective malaria treatment regimens.
