OUCRU-ID Visit to Medan

On September 15, 2023, Assoc Prof. Raph Hamers visited one of the INACO/COPCOV sites in Medan, which is Bunda Thamrin Hospital. Accompanied by Site-PI Prof.Ayodhia P Pasaribu, M.Ked(Ped), Sp.A(K), Ph.D(CTM), He visited the hospital and warmly welcomed by the owner Dr. Hely Wijaya and the director Dr.Hasanul Arifin Sp.An(K). During the visit, Dr. Hely shared her experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic as the only private hospital in Indonesia that was able to treat confirmed patients. She also shared her experience working with OUCRU and USU to conduct research conducted at the hospital for more than 2 years.

According to Prof. Raph, Medan’s site contributed the most data in both studies. This is due to the good cooperation between Bunda Thamrin Hospital and USU team. In the future, it is hoped that OUCRU, USU and Bunda Thamrin Hospital can collaborate again in other fields of research. This visit was closed by giving souvenirs and taking pictures together from Prof. Ayodhia to the hospital for their good cooperation in succeeding the INACO and COPCOV research.
